A Trailer

Recently, Habitat for Humanity of Smith County was blessed by the donation of an enclosed trailer from Northern Tool.  This donation will be used in the Brush with Kindness Program, making it more efficient and secure, all benefitting your neighbors, right here in Smith County.

The press release for the presentation of the trailer:
TYLER, TEXAS – Please join representatives from Habitat for Humanity of Smith County, Northern Tool and SignMasters of Tyler as they unveil a new 6X12 enclosed cargo trailer donated to Habitat by Northern Tool. SignMasters of Tyler donated the graphic design wrapping of the trailer.

The new trailer will be used to expand Habitat’s “A Brush with Kindness” program. “A Brush with Kindness” is Habitat’s exterior home preservation program that revitalizes low-income homes and neighborhoods.

“The program is a 3-way partnership between Habitat, Valspar Paint and the homeowner,” explained Habitat’s Steve Pepenella who oversees the program. “If the homeowner is physically able, they prepare their home to be painted. Then Habitat staff and volunteers join the homeowner in painting the home using paint that is donated by Valspar.”

“We are grateful to Northern Tool for donating the new trailer. This will help us increase our impact across Smith County,” said Jack Wilson, Habitat’s CEO.

“And we are indebted to SignMasters for donating the wrapping of the trailer. We are fortunate to have the support of such great businesses in the community,” Wilson said.

The trailer will transport to and from the job sites the numerous ladders, paint and painting supplies required for a painting project.
