DIY Saturday

We at your Smith County Habitat hope that you are having a great weekend and staying warm! We are having quite the cold front right now.

The ReStore home improvement center has many great finds now, so be sure to check them out. Also, I hear they might be having some great Black Friday sales!

While you are there think about all the many ways those materials can be reused.

Like these cabinets being repurposed into shelves. These would look great as bedside tables or really anywhere in your home!

Shutters can often be found at the Restore Home Improvement Center. Check out this project using shutters to build an island.

This same concept could be used to build a console or sofa table!

Veteran’s Day at the 100th Build Site

Yesterday was Veteran’s Day. A day many people take off from work and relax. At the 100th Build for Habitat for Humanity of Smith County, our veterans were busy!

We are so fortunate to have a local news station that does wonderful coverage of Habitat. Thanks CBS19!

Wall Raising

Your Smith County Habitat has raised the walls of the 100th home.  Yesterday we had a great group of citizens, community leaders and volunteers to kick off the 100 hours of building.  Check back here, on Facebook or Twitter for updates!
